About Us
WestCoast Baptist Association is the product of five years of work by a very dedicated team of churches that began as a cooperative initiative of the North American Mission Board, the Canadian National Baptist Convention and the Capilano Southern Baptist Association. In 1955 four churches formed the Capilano Southern Baptist Association becoming the first association in Canada. Now after over 50 years of ministry in Vancouver and Victoria we have been impacted dramatically over the past five years by cooperative prayer, partnership and participation with teams from across North America. We look across the landscape of our field and see over 66 churches composed of people from around the world. We now stand poised on the WestCoast of Canada with a passion to see our city transformed by an almighty God and a plan that has been formed by those same three elements: prayer, partnership and participation.
As we look to that future our family of churches holds these things in common.

We envision a day when there is a life-changing church for every people from Hope to Victoria.
Our Purpose
Our purpose is to create an environment where God ignites a sustainable movement of people
who embrace Christ, enjoy His Church, and engage sacrificially in global mission.
Our Core Values
Prayer -
The propelling priority of all aspects and phases of process in that prayer provides access to God and His power,
guidance and brokenness which are essential to the success of WBA.
Holiness -
A necessity to express obedience to God and know His guidance and biblical empowerment.
It must permeate the personal and corporate lives of all.
Kingdom Focus -
An attitude that demands cooperation by incorporating the larger Body of Christ
in achieving kingdom goals locally and to the ends of the earth.
Justice -
A Christ-given passion that stimulates us to engage society for the righteous treatment of people.
Intentionality -
The discipline by which God’s vision becomes the benchmark of all strategy and implementation.
It requires focus and commitment to uncompromising excellence with integrity.
Servant leadership -
The catalyst upon which vision is born, cast and realized.
It models a passion for God’s agenda and applies proper stewardship to all resources.
Team work -
The biblical model for accountable partnerships necessary to achieve unity,
cooperation and synergy. It demands a commitment to a common purpose.
Effectiveness -
As doing right things right. It requires the willingness to change and being strategic in both thought and action.
Grassroots ownership -
The means to empower and mobilize lay leadership in all aspects of our association.
It enables all local members of the Body of Christ to be involved in impacting the city.
The hope - the dream
The hope… the dream… is that a true God-led movement is developing to a point that the region is transformed to a place where it is evident that God reigns. The West Coast Baptist Association dreams of seeing 100 healthy churches birthed by the end of 2010.
